Welcome to the Verenti Cheshire Cat
The 2010 cyclosportive season proper starts right here with the fourth edition of the UCI sanctioned Verenti Cheshire Cat cyclosportive. It's a "must do" ride for most and the first UCI cycling for all challenge on the UK calendar. Since 2007 demand has outstripped supply for participant places so the capacity for entries has again been increased - every year hundreds of people tell us how they really wanted to ride but missed out. For 2010 we have a new event HQ - the prestigious Crewe Alexandra Stadium next to the famous 'arrive from anywhere' railway station...but if you do arrive by car with bike on the back there are thousands of easy, safe parking spaces in nearby car-parks. The HQ is just minutes from the M6 junctions 16 or 17. When you have entered, a week before the ride we'll give you access to all the information you need about arriving and participating to ensure you get the most from your personal challenge...and let us be the first to wish you GOOD LUCK!

Routes
We've improved the routes again this year and we've kept all the most popular bits of previous Cat routes. If you've ridden the Cheshire Cat before you may well recognise some of the beautiful Cheshire lanes. You will also experience new challenges as we take you through some different parts of beautiful Cheshire. We take you a little further west where roads are quiet and Cheshire borders onto North Wales in part of an area known as the Marches near the River Dee. The three route options have everything for a tough spring cycling challenge - some have fierce climbs like Mow Cop, flat plain, undulating lanes, pretty villages or open moorland. The routes are individual yet suitable for every type of road cyclist; there's an option for the serious sportive rider with the tough, but not too tough, early season 100 miler. We also have a challenging yet achievable 45 miler with one nice climb and a feedstation half-way round. Ever thought about riding a cyclosportive in 2010 and wondered just how and where to begin? - well don't get led down the garden path, on yer bike with KILO TO GO!...this fully supported 45 mile option might be right up your street if you don't want to bite of more than you can chew but still want to take on a real challenge. No matter what you are looking for in a challenging bike ride you'll find the Verenti Cheshire Cat 2010 has it all.
In the final run up to the big day
You can study the routes, maps and profiles by clicking the icons below. We have fully interactive maps to study in all kinds of map views, as well as gpx files to download and process for your own digital mapping or gps device. We may change the routes slightly between now and the event to make them safer, more enjoyable or because of road-works. More details and content about the event will frequently be loaded on our facebook and twitter pages. You can be sure the 2010 Verenti Cheshire Cat will be the biggest and best yet - the UK's first 'super-sportive' as Cycling Weekly called it.
See you there!
