Welcome to the Verenti Flatout in the Fens ![]() The Verenti Flatout in the Fens in the UK's longest single day cyclosportive ride. It's also the flattest as there are absolutely no hills on the routes whatsoever - but loads of superlatives to get over. Set in the beautiful vast open countryside around Lincolnshire and Cambridgeshire, big horizons and flat fast riding come as standard. If your style includes taking in beautiful tranquil English countryside rather than worrying if you'll be walking up the next hill then this ride could be right up your street. We've got a distance option which is perfect for triathletes in training; not because of it's flat fast profile but because it's 112 miles on the button. This year Flatout is just 6 weeks before IRONMANUK in Bolton; so it's an ideal opportunity to brush-up on your technique and assess your cycling form. But you don't really have to ride it flat out because Flatout takes place on one of the longest days of the year. So if you're looking for a totally unique and different type of challenging ride this is the cyclosportive you've been longing for. Routes We have three super-cool route options. Common to all three at the Verenti Flatout in the Fens are the distinct lack of bends - and we're talking bends to the left, right up and down. We have a 77 mile route launching straight onto the longest, flattest Fenland roads. Heading south-east into the sun to the furthest point at Thorny Castle. Then it's north to Gedney Hill (we can't find the hill at Gedney!) and eventually through Spalding to the finish back at Bourne. Our medium option is bang on 112 miles long and the wopping 153 miler takes riders further south and further east into the flattest Fenland of Cambridgeshire that we could find before we head straight (straight being the operative word here) back through Lincolnshire to Bourne. Some Flatout veterens from last year told us they thought 'Flat and Far' proved more challenging and more fun than some hilly challenges. Add to this the notorious Fenland wind which can be you best Fenland friend or your worst Fenland foe making this long day in the saddle quite different. On all routes you'll experience the vast beautiful open Fenland scenery, rare interesting wildlife and waterfowl, long quiet open roads and lanes, ancient villages alongside some of the world's most modern and productive farming techniques. Remember, flat does not equal easy - this is the longest UK one-day cyclosportive and it's farout!
